Stratton Mountain Day Hike: Grout Pond
Grout Pond Loop: This is the innermost-loop around Grout Pond. There are over 10.0 miles of multipurpose trails system of nearby Somerset Reservoir. The area has relatively flat, low-lying terrain. The trails, marked with blue diamond blazes, are available for year-round hiking. In winter, they are open to ungroomed skiing, and are rated easy to more difficult. Pond Loop: 2.53 Miles, easy, 1-1 1/2 hours Camp Loop: 0.9 Miles, easy, 1/2 hour East Trail: 3.2 Miles, easy-moderate, 1 hour West Trail: 2.8 miles, moderate, 1-2 hours Directions from Stratton Mountain: Travel south on the Stratton Mountain Access road. Take a right onto Mountain Road. Take Mountain Road to the end (T-junction with West Jamaica Road ~ 4 miles). Turn right onto West Jamaica Road and continue for about 1 mile. At intersection with Stratton-Arlington Road take a right. Follow Stratton-Arlington Road for 1.5 miles and take left onto Grout Pond Road.
