GP ride
This is the route of the Gill Pasco Tour, a ride in celebration of my Mum's life. It starts at "Suntrap", a building in Epping Forest used as a maternity hospital during WWII, where Mum was born in October 1943. In June 2011 Mum died from Myeloma, a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer, at the age of 67. The route passes through all the places she lived. The finish is in Fordwich, just outside of Canterbury, where Mum spent the last 15 years of her life. Specific places on the route where Mum lived are: Colman Rd, Beckton, East London (23 km)(1943-49); Lower Station Rd, Crayford (40 km)(1949-71); Leybourne Dr, Garlinge, Margate (189 km)(1971-79); All Saints Ave, Margate (190 km)(1979-97) and Brooklands Close, Fordwich (250 km)(1997-2011). The dates of the ride are 21st-22nd July 2012, and it is a fundraising event for Myeloma UK - a 252446.9 m activity route in Waltham Abbey, the United Kingdom
