Connaught Cycle Challenge 100 Mile Cycle
Arguably the most scenic cycle in Ireland. Starting from Westport the first section is fairly flat and allows an easy warm up. Once alongside Lough Mask -which is quite early on- the views are spectacular all the way to the finish. There are four tough climbs. The first three come close together. The first is the climb out of Lough Mask bringing you through a Gaeltacht region and the start of the stunning scenery. The second climb is Maam Cross which is known throughout Connaught. The third climb is Lough Inagh climbing up into Connemara National Park with epic views. The final climb is out of Lough Doo. The last 20 miles into the finish are flat or downhill. Passing by the foot of Croagh Patrick and then swooping along the side of Clew Bay and it\\'s 365 islands, one for every day of the year, the route comes to an end in the beautiful Westport House grounds where there will be food, music, showers, parking. - a 97.4 mi cycling route in Westport, Ireland
