Description of this Bike Ride

McKenzie Hwy south to Oakridge via Aufderheide National Scenic Byway. Very nice from McKenzie river to Box Canyon summit: very smooth road, scenic, shady, very comfortable climb. Last 2-3 miles to the summit definately steeper. Very steep off the summit toward Oakridge but very rough so dangerous to really let go. Rough most of the way and not as scenic. Rating: excellent 25 mi section from river to summit; not as rewarding from summit to Oakridge.
