Watsonville - Santa Cruz - Pacifica - San Francisco
Monterey Bay Area (Watsonville/Santa Cruz) to San Francisco via Highway 1 using old San Pedro Rd (multi-use trail) as a bypass for Devils Slide portion of Hwy 1. Very scenic. Did this on a road bike with road bike tires. The San Pedro Mtn Rd portion was not a lot of fun, but doable. Walked the bike for a particularly rough 25 ft. An old paved road forms the base for the trail so in some places you are almost riding on pavement. One note on this ride - winds off the ocean tend to blow East South East. If it is a foggy day on the coast and sunny inland the wind can be extreme and make for a tough 40 miles on Highway 1 between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay. - a 97.3 mi cycling route in Watsonville, California
